ー あれ is the particle that shows that the object is near both the speaker and the interlocutor.

Example:

2. それ + は + わたし + の + ほん です

How about みんな? Are you still excited to learn after reading this material? Of course you have to be excited, here we learn with enjoyment みんな. So that you can still digest this material (✿^‿^)(。-̀ᴗ-)✧

Have you understood the difference between Kore, Sore, Are and Kono, Sono, Ano yet みんな? If not, try to read carefully this short explanation from the admin ( ╹▽╹ ).

1. Kono Hon wa (This book) while Kore wa Hon (This Book)

2. Sono Hon wa (That book) while Sore wa Hon (That book)

3. Ano Hon wa (That book) while Are wa Hon (That Book)

Do you understand みんな yet? Hopefully you understand the explanation ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

C. Noun + の + Proceeding Noun

1. First Noun Expresses the Owner of the 2nd Noun

Example:

ー あれ + は + わたし + の + ほん です

This is my book / This is my book.

2. First Noun Describes the 2nd Noun

Example:

ー あれ + は + にほんご + の + ほんです

This is a Japanese book

3. Particle の as a Noun Substitute

Admin immediately gave an example of みんな:

Q : "あれ + は + だれ + の + ほんですか?"
A : "わたしのです" / A : "わたしのほんです"
A : "いえ、わたしのじゃありません / ではありません"

Q : "Whose book is that?"
A : "Mine"
A : "No, it's not mine"

The particle の above serves to replace the noun (ほん), both answers have the same meaning. But the particle の is also used to shorten the sentence. The bottom answer of A is an example of a refusal answer that it is not mine.

D. そうです / そうですか

そうです This particle is often used to answer both positive and negative questions. Whereas そうですか is used to answer a question.

Example そうです :

Q : "あれはくるまですか?"

A : "はい、そうです"

Q : "Is that a car?"

A : "Yes, it is"

Example そうですか:

Q : "あれはやまださんのくるまですか?"

A : "いええ、ちがいます. やまださんのくるまです"

Q : "そうですか"

Q : "Is that Mr. Yamada's car?"

A : "No, wrong. That's not Mr. Yamada's car"

Q : "Ah...I see."
